Final Assignement

Hello guys, I'm here to show you all my group website, it's not perfect done yet, still in the progress haha :P
Let me show you guys the group layout again in case you guys frgt haha

As you guys see from the website layout, our group need to design our own logo and also banner for the website.
This will be the group logo that we designed.

"B" representing our group name BimBo. Maybe it's too simple to you guys, but simple things always look nice. No choice, we love simple things instead of complicated things xD

Next, this will be the banner of the website.

Yeap, it looks simple also hehe.

So now, let start using dreamweaver to create our group website.
I bet you guys knw how to use dreamweaver very well :P At least better than us haha.

A Quick.Short Meeting

A quick and short meeting has been held in the lecture hall after the class.
I had briefly told my group members what they need to do for this week.
We will do our website using Dreamweaver and Flash.

And before that, this is the flow chart of the website.

Home : This category will explain a brief information about Redang Island, where the Redang Island located and details about the scenery in the Redang Island, thus the tourists will realize how beautiful the Redang Island is and attract the tourists' attention. 
About Us : If the customer have any comments or questions about the services, this is where the place to get the contact list via phone, email or fax.

Resorts : Tourists can achieve more information about the different types of resorts, the location of each resorts. Tourists can differentiate each types of resorts through this category and compare among the resorts. Furthermore, tourists can check out the price of the resorts too ! Tourists can check out the price range from the lowest to the highest.
               This will be the draft. We will use colorful crystal ball to represent each of the resort. There will be 14 resorts in total. The first page of the resorts contain information about 7 resorts, you can check out the information of the other resorts by clicking next page! You can view back the previous resorts

               Once you click into one of the resort, you will see the information for each of the resort. The draft will look like this :

Facilities : This category will list out the facilities provided in the Redang Island.You can check it out all the informations regarding the facilities. This information will helps you to travel more enjoyable and relaxing as this facilities provide convenient to you.
Activities : You can check out the list of the activities through this category. There are variety of the activities provided in the Redang Island as to make tourists will not feel bored and dull while traveling in the Redang Island. This will be the draft of the layout when you click in.

Transportation : Afraid of no transportation? No worries! there are always transportation available for you! This category will explain about the details regarding the price list of transportation , different kinds of transportation, timetable for the transportation, and you can view the photos of the transportation . You can reach one destination that you wanted easily with transportation and in the same time you can save times to enjoy more activities!

Promotion : Tourists can get many information about what Redang Island promoting. This category will explain different attractive packages available for you! Promotion prices are different according to  months.

Photo Gallery : Through this category, you can view the pictures of resorts, activities, facilities that provided in the Redang Island. You will realize how nice the resorts provided in the Redang Island and you could imagine how the activities and facilities will going on.
Online Reservation : Tourists can book resort rooms here. This category are helpful in making last minute travel arrangements. You can always check the availability of the room at any time of the day and night.

In this website, we will put quite lot of pictures to attract tourists. 

As what we mentioned in our previous post, we had divided into three main parts:

We try to collect as many pictures as we can, so we could choose the best one to put it in our website :)

The Proposal

REDANG ISLAND

Objective:

Redang Island is also known as Pulau Redang. It is located 45km off the east coast of Kuala Terengganu. It is about 7km long and 6km wide. The highest peak is Bukit Besar at 359 meters above sea-level. 

The most interesting part of Redang Island is the only one Island for the tourist to get the opportunity to observe the sea turtles. Redang Island is also provided many activities such as snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, jungle trekking, beach volleyball, sea kayaks, boating and canoeing. Besides that, tourist could take pictures with different types of aquatic life when their diving moment by renting an underwater camera for RM30 per day .The pictures will burn in CD.

          There are plenty of resorts available in Redang Island. Tourists can choose the resorts which meet their requirement and needs. The best season to visit Redang Island is between April and October. This is because most resorts are closed during November to March due to Northeast Monsoon. 

Target User:  

The target user for our proposal is the youth, adults and foreigners. The youth will most likely travel the Redang Island with a bunch of friends. Most of the youth like to enjoy exciting activities. Most of the adults are working and could spend their money in the Redang Island. If the foreigners have a good impression towards Redang Island, they will spread the reputation of the Redang Island around the world.




Responsibilities:              

Oh Hwei Qi and Ng Chee Wei

Both of them will responsible in introducing and promoting the resorts in Redang Island to let peoples know more about the resorts such as the facilities, the location, the promotion, the activities and what not. 

Ho See Wei and Lee Jia Xiang

They will responsible in explaining the activities that visitors or tourists can do while they traveling in Redang Island. Visitors or tourists would know what the activities running and how the resorts carry the activities on. 

Chong Yuan Zhang or Ricky

Ricky will in charge in giving the details about transportation. Foreign tourists might confuse  the road to the destination which is Redang Island, what transports they can  ride, the price, and the distance.

Resort is a place used for relaxation or recreation, attracting visitors for holidays or vacations. The tourists will able to get the information about the price ranging from the most luxury or elegant resorts to the most budget afforable resorts. In addition to that, the tourists will able to meet the requirement of the room which they favor the most. Besides that, the visitors could choose the best facilities to spend their time.

Activities: 

Redang Island is definitely an island that exists to fulfill the dreams of keen water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. Redang Island consists of white fine sand, crystal clear blue water and brilliant underwater world. Since water is the main element of an island, many visitors visit Redang Island island for the water sports and to get in touch with the nature. Visiting Redang Island is truly a step nearer to the nature- blue sea, green trees, sandy beaches and fine sand. This island is a closed island, therefore, it does not have any vehicle or factories. Beaches are fame for water sports so as to Redang Island. There are many activities that can be done at this island, no matter it’s water sports or not. The activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, jungle trekking, turtle watching and many more.

Snorkeling is basically an activity that is suitable for all ages especially teenagers and young adults. Snorkeling allows you to enjoy and experience a great view of the underworld that cannot be seen at ordinary beaches. During snorkeling, you will be able to see various marine lives that are seen on the television like Discovery channel or even at encyclopedia. 

Scuba diving is a little different from snorkeling. Scuba diving means going through a session of underwater swimming and diving deep under the water using what is known as scuba set. Scuba diving is an activity that dives deep into the sea and not on the surface of the water. To carry out this activity, divers must have the diving license. Scuba diving allows divers to have a very clear and abstract image of those marine lives and coral reefs. There are corals of every imaginable shape, size and colours. 

Jungle trekking is the main dry activity of the island. There are a few tracks with different difficulties available- beginner, intermediate and advanced. For children, it’s encouraged to go for the beginner stage as the track is slightly shorter and are not as hectic as compared to the intermediate and advanced. For adventurous lovers, they can get some information from the resort staffs on how to get up to hilltops and rocky cliffs along the eastern ridge that offered spectacular overhead views of Pasir Panjang and Teluk Kalong.

Tourists can set a camping on the beach complete with barbecue pits, benches and chairs. You could enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Camping is a great outdoors activity and it is a great way to experience the nature. 

Moreover, watching turtle is one of the activity that having in Pulau Redang. This is a special activity that having in Terengganu. Turtles are one of the animal having in Malaysia country. Turtles are categorized according to its physical appearance, behaviour and nesting site. To your surprise, sex of hatchings is determined by the temperature of the surrounding sand, which a female turtle lays its eggs. A warm nest will result in mostly female hatchings while males are mostly come from a cooler nest.

Nightlife in Redang is nothing short of amazing. Tourists can find nightclubs, casinos, concerts and shows, movies and theaters, and bars in the resorts of Redang Island. Indeed a paradise for party people. Most of the nightlife here resolves around the beach such as knocking back a few beers and singing karaoke. Many mini-marts and shopping malls are located around the Island for your shopping pleasure. Tourists can buy unique souvenirs back to their country or to their family and friends. Take note that most of the small souvenir shops are closed during off-peak seasons. . 

Online Reservation: 

Tourists would only need to take little times to cook the resort and choose the room they wish to stay in. They could book it earlier so that they have place to stay when they visit Redang Island so that the resort would remember the room tourists’ preference and have everything ready when tourists arrive. It’s quick and easy for those who are working. Besides that, the form of booking offers security and complete privacy.

Transportation: 


There are many ways to go Redang Island, for example, plan, car, bus, ferry and boat. Transportation could help the tourists who came from different countries know the information such as the way to go Redang Island, the distance, and the prices for the transportation.




Photo Gallery: 


The tourists will able to view the beauty scenery of the Redang Island through the photo gallery. Besides that, the tourists will able to differentiate different types of resorts and will not confuse when want to choose the resort which they favor the most. Specialty of the resorts can be known by viewing the photo gallery.




Feedback: 


The feedback will help to enhance the resorts' reputation. This is because feedback will reveal the each resort's weakness. The resort will improve in term of facilities, services in order to achieve many positive feedbacks and thus increase the resorts' reputation.




Promotion: 


We will update all the packages that the resorts offer and the prices to show the characteristic of the resorts in Redang Island. This can help us to differentiate the resorts in Redang Island from other resorts in other Islands. Tourists can make comparisons between the packages and the prices that offered by the resorts in Redang Island with others.

Hello everyone,

I'm here to write about my group and also a short brief of our proposal.

"Bimbo" is our group name. If you guys search for "Bimbo" in the net, you will see that Bimbo is describes as a woman who is physically attractive but is also have a low intelligence. Our group is made up of four girls and one guy, and we're not smart of course, but intend to be more smarter and do better in Digital Media. This is why me and my group members decided this name.

Oh yea, let me introduce myself. 

My name is Oh Hwei Qi. I'm the group leader. I'm student from Finance with Multimedia.

Here is my group members :

Lee Jia Xiang. She's now pursuing Marketing with Multimedia.

 Ho See Wei. She's pursuing Finance with Multimedia.

  Chong Yuan Zhang or Ricky. He's pursuing Finance with Multimedia. He's the only guy and foreign student in our group.

Ng Chee Wei. She's pursuing Finance with Multimedia.

Our tutorial section which is BC 271B had chosen Island as our topic. After having a meeting with my group mates, we had decided to choose Redang Island as the Island that we wanted to promote to tourists. In order to promoting the Island we choose, we will create a web site to attract more people to visit Redang Island.  This is also the objective that we wish to achieve.

Demography

            Redang Island is a home for a community which is estimated at approximately 250 of fisherman families. The people in Redang Island believed the fisherman families is the descendents of the Bugis. Most of them stay at the fishermen’s village in houses which is built by using the wooden poles on the main island, Pulau Redang and it is located at Sungai Redang’s section. The houses were built for a long time and are still waiting for upgrade. Pulau Redang is a well-known island and attracts many tourists’ attention and thus increases in the number of local and foreign tourists especially during the weekends, public holidays and school holidays.

            Demography is a descriptive analysis of respondents’ socio-demographic variables such as age, gender, education level, employment and monthly gross household income.

The visitors aged between 18 to 70 years old. In terms of gender, it was found that 63.1 % were males whereas females were 36.9 %.

Besides that, it was found that many of the visitors (45.6%) pursuing university degree, 32.9% of the visitors is taking secondary school education, whereas 18.1% of the visitors is successfully achieved professional certificate or diploma qualification and 3.4 % had only a primary school education.

The visitors’ employment status is an important variable. This is because it is related to the education level, income level of the visitors. Normally, a higher educational level will link with a better employment and higher income. According to the survey, most of the visitors were full-time employment, which is 66.1 %, while 14.8 % were full-time students, and 9.1% were full-time housewives. Meanwhile, the visitors who were unemployment and retirement figures were 5.7 % and 4.4 % respectively.

In addition to that, the level of monthly gross household income was grouped within four income level which is very high (more than RM9, 000), high (RM6001 to RM9000), medium (RM3001 to RM6000) and low (less than RM3000). According to the result, most of the visitors (36.3%) fell into the medium income category, followed by 27.5 % in the low-income category. The high and very high –income categories were 18.4% and 17.8% respectively. This result revealed that most of the visitors fell into the medium income category.
